Importance of a Learner Licence
A Learner Licence is an learning driving license issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO). It provides the opportunity for you to learn driving in the company of an professional driver or instructor. Since it’s illegal to drive without a Learner Licence, in addition to risking heavy fines, you could also be fined as a driver who failed to accompany the learner. Most of all, this is paper which guarantees you drive safely until the time you obtain your permanent driving license. HERE at On Road Motor Driving School we always teach our students to value this act of moving vehicle as this promotes self-assurance and eventually learning to be responsible in following traffic rules.
Who is capable for a Learner Licence
It is essential for you to determine if you can APPLY for a Learners Licence in India. It is based on your age and what kind of vehicle you want to drive. In case of a two-wheeler without gear, the applicant needs to be a minimum of 16 years of age but needs parental consent. 16-24 years – The minimum age criteria to apply for an Activa for the age group of 16 to 24 in the case of a two-wheeler (with gear) and a four-wheeler is 18 years. If you would rather work as a commercial driver, the minimum age (again, in most states) is 20 years. Satisfying these basic needs is a key to starting off with your driving.
Documents Required for the Application
You’re required to present some documents while you’re applying for your Learner’s License. Here are documents which you have to upload in it: proof of age proof of address passport size photographs Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID, PAN Card, & Utility Bills are some of the common Accepted documents. Learner Licence Online Application Process: Apply for a Learning Licence Online
Learner Licence process has become easy and digital in India, courtesy the Government of India. You can apply in most states through the official Sarathi Parivahan website. Here is how it works: First, go to the portal and click on your state. And then, you select “Apply for Learner Licence.” Provide your personal details, vehicle category and other info in the form provided. After you complete the form, you will be required to submit scanned copies of your documents. Once you are ready, schedule a test for Learner Licence at your local RTO. Fees can also be paid online.
Offline Application at the RTO
You can still apply offline, if you would rather do things the old-fashioned way. Go to your closest RTO (Regional Transport Office) and ask for Form 2 (application for Learner Licence). Once you’ve done that, pack the form properly so as to not damage it and then affix the necessary documents and give it to the RTO. You will be allocated a test date for your Leaner Licence. We frequently support our learners through their offline application process at On Road Motor Driving School if they are unable to proceed online.
The Learner Licence Test
The Learner’s Permit test is one of the first and most important steps. It’s an online test at the RTO to assess you on your knowledge about road signs, traffic rules and basic driving norms. The test is typically written test with multiple choice questions and you must attain passing marks for a good result. If this sounds like a daunting task, worry not – Our On Road Motor Driving School team offers mock test sessions and traffic rule classes to help you get ready. Get your Learner Licence and a confidence confidence as a responsible driver when you pass your driving test.
Receiving Your Learner Licence
On passing the test the Learning Licence would be generated instantly or within few days through the system of the RTO. Few state provide the learners copy which you can download from the Sarathi Parivahan website. Some may provide you with a physical card. Either way, when that Learner Licence does come into your hand, you can by law practise driving under supervision.
